Welcome potential coaches!

A few things to know.....

• You will need to agree to a background check by AAI, using public data.
• You must have reliable mobile phone, email and transportation.
• AAI Board of Directors determines, through voting, who is awarded coaching spots. Decisions are made based upon - but not limited to - info you provided in the registration form, criminal background check results, your current or previous record of conduct/general standing here at AAI, our needs for coaches in certain ages groups, etc.
• For all age groups EXCEPT 4U, tryouts, which are basic skills assessments, are held in February (on a Saturday and Sunday) for Spring League season only. Your age group will have specific tryout times on those days. Players will only tryout on one day or the other, but you will need to be there both days. Expect a brief coaches meeting on the afternoon of the Saturday tryout day, after all tryouts for the day have been completed (plan for around 5:30pm, but this will be confirmed beforehand).
• NO TRYOUTS FOR FALL BALL - all players are drafted blind onto teams by coaches for fall league play.
• Coaches select team names and practice times/days/locations during the drafts.
• Drafts will be completed in all age groups by mid-February for spring league and mid-August for fall league. Every registered player makes a team, whether they attended tryouts or not (tryouts only applicable in spring league).
• Games for spring league will start the week of March 18 - generally Monday that week, and will depend on each league's final team count as to who plays during that week. Fall league games typically start the Saturday after Labor Day.
• Spring League game schedules should be posted by March 1. Fall league game schedules generally posted by or around September 1st.
• Spring league - Most teams should expect to play two games each week, with varying weeknights plus Saturdays being utilized. (4U is Saturday game sonly, unless otherwise specified).
• Fall league - all games played on Saturdays only.
• More details will be discussed in the coaches meeting.
